New report sheds light on key challenges of deploying a globally mobile workforce

Nearly 40 percent of employees work outside of their organization's home country.1 Having a global workforce supports economic development, company growth, and is critical to an effective business strategy.

And while managing a globally mobile workforce isn't easy, the payoffs can be significant for companies that accept the challenges. Those challenges are illuminated in a recent report by ADP® and Worldwide ERC®, an association for professionals who oversee, manage, or support U.S. domestic and international employee transfers.

Based on a survey of Worldwide ERC employer members, the report outlines the top global destinations and their challenges. It compares cost allocation methods and reveals that four types of assignments are gaining traction over traditional home-to-host international assignments: local-plus, expatriate lite, hybrid expatriate, and global nomads/career assignees.

Entitled Strategic Global Mobility Issues: A Review of Global Organizational Challenges and Alignment, the study offers a benchmark for comparing your organization to companies that have navigated the road to a truly global workforce.
